WHAT IS COOLGLIDE LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

The CoolGlide Laser Hair Removal treatment is the newest form of hair removal procedure available today. It works effectively in removing hairs from all types of skins and skin tones.

The CoolGlide treatment can remove hairs from any part of the body, including the face, legs, arms, underarms and back. It can also be used to remove hairs from the sensitive regions such as the bikini line, chest and nipples.

WHY COOLGLIDE LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

CoolGlide Laser Hair Removal provides a variety of benefits to those who opt to undergo the treatment. Compared to other hair removal methods such as waxing, shaving or depilatory creams, that require multiple sessions from time to time, CoolGlide offers a permanent solution to hair removal. Although multiple sessions (3-6 approximately) are needed initially to target every hair follicle, CoolGlide manages to attack every hair follicle, stopping the growth of new hairs and leaving the skin smooth, rejuvenated and permanently hair-free.

It also works equally well in removing hairs from all types of skin and skin tones, hence making it a more inclusive form of hair removal.

CoolGlide Laser Hair Removal treatment also has very few side effects, compared to its older alternatives. The skin may feel swollen and red after the treatment, but it will fade away almost instantly. Even when it comes to after care, a good moisturiser is all you need to keep your skin in great condition. While going out, a layer of sunscreen is also recommended, to protect the exposed skin.

PRE-TREATMENT REQUIREMENTS

There are a few steps that one needs to take in order to completely prep for the hair removal procedure and ensure that top tier results are achieved:

  1. Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds at least 4 weeks before the treatment.
  2. Avoid bleaching, waxing or tweezing hairs in the target region at least 2 weeks prior to the treatment. If needed, shave the region beforehand.
  3. Avoid any irritants to the skin at least 1 week before the procedure.
  4. Do discuss with the doctor about your medical history as well as any concerns you may have.
  5. Avoid applying lotions or creams to the target region before the treatment.
  6. Do not apply makeup, if you wish to remove facial hairs.

TREATMENT PROCESS

Once you are well-prepped, the CoolGlide Laser Hair Removal process begins. The CoolGlide handpiece is gently pressed onto the target region and is made to glide along the skin. As it does so, light impulses are emitted, which attack multiple hair follicles at the same time. This may cause a slight pinching or stinging sensation, but it is immediately cooled and soothed by the CoolGlide handpiece.

Usually, the treatment doesn’t require any anaesthetic or pain medication. However, some patients may opt for a topical anaesthetic in the case of sensitive regions being targeted.

POST-TREATMENT REQUIREMENTS

Right after your CoolGlide Laser Hair Removal session, you may notice some swelling and redness in the target region. However, this will fade away in no time.

You may also notice the growth of some hairs in the region, in the following 3 to 7 days. Do note that you should not wax or pluck any hairs you see between sessions, as this may tamper with the results.

Post-treatment, it is advisable to practice proper skin care habits and avoid sun exposure when possible. When going out under unavoidable circumstances, do make use of sunscreen to protect the exposed skin. You may be prescribed a particular skin care product or a skin care regime to follow, to further aid the hair removal process, while also protecting the skin beneath.
